US Supports Two Districts To Improve Health, Nutrition

The Northern Regional Coordinating Council is to identify nearly 400,000 people, mainly women and children, to develop their own programmes and initiatives to improve the consumption of a variety of quality food, improve behaviours and practices of good hygiene and nutrition.
The United Stated grant programme will also facilitate support for local support structures, including those of local government and non-governmental organisations, to initiate and implement programmes under a new US programme that will directly deliver grant to beneficiary communities.
Resiliency in Northern Ghana is a US$60 million initiative supported by the United States Agency for International Development which seeks to improve the livelihoods and nutritional status of those most in need (with an emphasis on women of child-bearing age and children under five years).
