Time to bury the hatchet

Over the last few days, social and traditional media have been buzzing with news of the feud between two prominent artistes, M.anifest and Sarkodie. This is not the first feud we are witnessing between artistes since the inception of Hiplife in Ghana. 

The nature of Hiphop from which the genre of Hiplife is derived, celebrates feuds and acts of aggression among artistes. Without doubt, such war of words between high profile artistes has contributed to the growth and popularity of the genre across the world. 

The current feud between M.anifest and Sarkodie has generated a lot of attention with many fellow artistes and industry players contributing their opinion to the debate. We at Showbiz admit that feuds to some extent are beneficial to the industry. It forces artistes in the industry to lift their game and generates a lot of hype. 

We however urge both rappers and all others who might want to contribute to this feud to be mindful of their utterances and actions. Music is a display of artistic expression and artistes are free to express their creativity. However, they must be mindful not to say or do things they will regret later. 

Irrespective of what brought about this feud, we at Showbiz are of the opinion that it has gone on long enough and both sides have had the opportunity to express themselves and hence efforts must be made to end this. 

With all the hype surrounding this feud, we can only imagine the type of support both artistes would generate by collaborating on a song, embarking on a tour or releasing a joint album. We urge both artistes to calm down and put aside their differences for the good of the industry.
