The song, a reggae piece produced by Riverbank Studio, talks about the tender loving care his mother showed him and his brother.
In the song, he recalls how his mother watched over him from infancy till adulthood, instilling discipline in him. He thanks his mother for contributing to his current success through her hard work.
Mamaba, rendered in English and Fanti has a catchy reggae rhythm, which makes the song fun to listen to.
Omanba Kakraba Wulimpan said the Love Your Mom campaign, which was launched on March 7 at the Veteran’s Hall, Osu, is to celebrate the efforts of mothers, especially single mothers who have to be both a father and mother to their children.
“My mother was very influential in my life and I felt that I should start this campaign in her memory after she passed away. Without mothers, there would be no humanity and as a result, we shouldn’t wait for a single day such as Mother’s Day, before we let them know how much they mean to us,” he said.
Omanba Kakraba Wulimpan said the Love Your Mom campaign would take many forms including an initiative to promoting the culture of reading among the youth.
