J-Slash on the move
As a young student who used to perform on stage during entertainment nights at St. Augustine’s College, up and coming rapper, J-Slash, had always harboured the dream of performing on a bigger platform to show off his music potential.
This dream became a reality when he had the chance to perform at a concert dubbed X.O Xpereince Night at Hexagon, Cape Coast and Vienna City Night Club, Takoradi, about two months ago. And since then, there is no stopping for the 25-year-old rapper.
In an interview with Showbiz last Thursday, J-Slash, a graduate of the University Of Cape Coast said that he is ready “to be a player in the music game”.
“Until you see me perform, I come across as someone who cannot sing let alone rap. So my first performance in school drew loud cheers and applause from my mates because they least expected to see me on stage but that is me, I am always full of surprises.
“I however used my entertainment days in Senior High as a platform to learn the basics of rap music. Now, I’m mature enough to step into the world of music,” he stated.
Early this year, J-Slash released two songs, Time of the Season and Right There featuring other up and coming artistes, ProVok and Lyana respectively. He hopes to release a latest single, Hope, soon.
Real name, Seyram Addai, J-Slash is currently in the studio working to release more singles off his upcoming album Eko 101 which he said would be launched early next year.
J-Slash who is also a philanthropist has established the CL3 – Community Lead Learning project in partnership with a friend. The aim of the project which Krofokrom, a village in the Western Region has already benefitted from is to provide solar tree lighting summer huts for underprivileged communities in Ghana.
“These are summer huts with solar pannels which provide lights to help children in deprived areas study during the night’, he added.
About his dreams for the future, J-Slash says, "I want to own a record label, manage other artists and remain a philanthropist and I am hopeful my music will help me achieve these,” he stated.
