Nothing wrong with tapping young acts for comeback – Tinny
HIPLIFE artiste Tinny says he sees nothing wrong with riding on the backs of young talented musicians who are doing well to launch a comeback.
According to Tinny, he doesn’t see why he should he feel too big to work with young acts like Kuami Eugene, KiDi or King Promise if he needs to.
“I don’t have any problem at all featuring these young ones on my songs because they are the hottest musicians at the moment and any good business person will do the same. They are doing extremely well, I must recommend them for that.
“More so, most of these young ones approach me to feature on their songs because I have paid my dues in the Hiplife industry,” he told Graphic Showbiz on Monday, May 25.
On what he has been up to musically, Tinny said he decided to take a break after the release of his track Kojo Besia in October last year but had planned a heavy comeback this year until the coronavirus pandemic set in.
“We all know what COVID-19 has done to everything around the world. I am equally affected because I had a lot of projects I intended embarking on this year but everything has come to a standstill because of the virus,” he said.
Tinny, real name Nii Addo Quaynor, has been in the music industry for close to two decades and has released songs such as Maamle, Dzormo, Ringtone, Makola Kwakwe, Anaconda, Obi Do Ba, Badder Than Them, Who Say Man No Dey among others.
Some of his awards are Ga-Dangbe Icon of the Decade in 2012, African Artiste of the Year at Hip Hop World Awards in 2009, New Artiste of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards in 2004 and Young Musician of the Year at the Youth Excellence Awards in 2004.
