10 to Bee ‘swerves’ winners
Though winners of the maiden edition of the 10 to Bee television reality show, Bernard Ansah and Grace Quarshie, tied the knot last weekend at the SDA Church at Tema, the cost of their wedding which was part of their prize package, was not borne by D’imago, organisers of the show.

The newly-weds had to foot their own bill because they are yet to receive their prize which include among others, an all expenses paid wedding and honeymoon and GH¢ 10,000 cash after they emerged the ultimate winners some six months ago.
10 to Bee, created by actor Omar Sheriff Captan, CEO of D’imago to deliberate on the essence of marriage, was aired on Viasat 1 for 10 weeks.
The final event was held on Saturday, April 12, at the Ghana College of Surgeons and Physicians auditorium.
The winners, now Mr and Mrs Ansah, told Showbiz in an interview last Monday that they were disappointed with the treatment they received from the organisers.
“We have regretted participating in the show. This is not what the organisers told us. We were told the ultimate winner would receive GH¢ 10,000.00 cash in addition to an all expenses paid wedding and honeymoon.
“As we speak, the organisers have given us just GH¢ 2,000 out of the GH¢10,000. Though the cast of cake and water was provided for the wedding, we virtually had to pay for everything else which defeats the purpose for which we decided to be part of the show,” the couple lamented.
According to them, the excuse by the organisers that the main sponsor of the show, Kasapreko, was yet to honour its part of the agreement was unacceptable.

“Since winning the competition in April, the organisers have been telling us different stories anytime we ask for what is due us. We have held our wedding were expecting to be given our cash prize but that is yet to be done as winners of the show,” they said.
Asked what their next line of action would be, the couple said they plan to pursue the matter in court if the organisers fail to give them the rest of their money by the end of the year.
“We initially reported the case to the police but withdrew it because we are good Christians and trusted them when they said they would honour their obligation. However, we now think the organisers want to take us for granted so we are ready to take the case to court if we don’t get the rest of our money by the end of the year,” they said.
When Omar Sheriff Captan was contacted by Showbiz, he explained that it was unfortunate things did not go on well as planned because he was ready to give the winners their prizes once Kasapreko paid him the Gh¢50,000.00 sponsorship money.
According to him, the GH¢2,000 he gave to Mr and Mrs Ansah was from his personal funds and that he will fulfil his promise the moment Kasapreko makes payment.
“I will not do anything to jeopardise a reality show I plan running for a long time to come. I apologise for the delay but I promise this will not happen again,” Omar said.
10 to Bee which ran for 10 weeks, took off with 10 couples selected through auditions. The number was pruned to four for the finals.
