2024 Eastern Music Awards: Daasebreba Kwame crowned Artiste of the Year 

Rising star Daasebreba Kwame has been named Artiste of the Year at the 2024 Eastern Music Awards, held at the Koforidua Cultural Centre.  

Now in its fifth year, the Eastern Music Awards celebrates and honours exceptional musical talent from the Eastern Region and beyond, showcasing diverse genres and promoting the region's rich cultural heritage.  

The ceremony featured electrifying performances from nominees and past winners, creating a memorable evening that highlighted the Eastern Region's vibrant music scene.  

Daasebreba Kwame, signed to the Yaco International record label, had a remarkable year, winning not only the prestigious Artiste of the Year award but also the Highlife Song of the Year accolade.  

In recognition of his achievements, Daasebreba Kwame’s Artiste of the Year package includes a performance slot at the 2025 African Music Week in Canada.  

During his acceptance speech, Daasebreba Kwame expressed heartfelt gratitude to his fans for their unwavering support and dedicated his award to aspiring musicians across Ghana.

He mentioned the importance of staying true to one’s musical roots while embracing innovation, a message that was met with resounding applause from the audience.
