'Aboagye' finds his Pearl

At exactly half past three in the afternoon, the bride in a cream coloured gown arrived in a BMW convertible and became the focus of  scores of camera lenses.

The officiating Minister, Rev. Father Campbell in his sermon entreated the couple to spend much time together remarking that “I know that you both have busy schedules and may not have the opportunity to always be together but you must know that making time for each other is very important for new couples like you”.

The event which could be described as a “celebrity” wedding saw in attendance the crème de la crème in Ghana’s entertainment circles including Majid Michel, Ekow  Smith Asante, Naa Ashorkor, Jocelyn Dumas, Eazzy, Becca, Bertha, Funny Face, Caroline, Okyeame Kwame, KOD, DJ Black, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and Kwesi Kyei Darkwa.

Recounting how he met the wife to his guests who he had dated since 2002, the humorous Aboagye described his wife as a precious pearl just as her name implies.

“I got attracted to her the first day I saw her but I must confess that I really fell in love and made a decision to be with her for the rest of my life when she virtually became my companion in my  most difficult times. I remember that back at the University of Ghana, I had to sell most of my property to help me further my education because I was in financial difficulty” he added.

He disclosed they both had to cry in my room when he had to sell his DVD which was the last property he had to make money to further his studies adding that “Since then, I have never stopped loving her. She had always been my strength and inspiration in life “

Old students of Mfantsipm  School, alma mater George, who didn’t want to be left out the celebration stormed the stage during the reception to churn out “jama” songs to reminisce the good old days.

Naa Ashorkor, who works closely with George at Charterhose Productions said: “I pray that Pearl understands George as she has always and continue to be his supporter. I wish them a happy marriage”.
