Accra Marriott Hotel kicks off festive season with annual tree lighting ceremony

The Accra Marriott Hotel has held its annual Tree Lighting ceremony to usher in the festive season.

The event, which featured the lighting of two Christmas trees, combined tradition with sustainability, showcasing the hotel's commitment to eco-friendliness.

The ceremony which took place in the hotel's gazebo garden on Thursday, December 5, 2024, was adorned with holiday decorations that created a warm and inviting atmosphere. Complimentary refreshments and holiday treats were available to guests.

It was attended by members of the diplomatic, business and local communities. Parents and friends of the Accra Marriott brand were treated to a plethora of enchanting performances by renowned opera singer, Guy Bertrand, and the Grace Choral choir, the Accra Marriott Hotel choir, ballet performances from the Mandy Fouracre Dance Academy at Pippa's Gym, live painting by Yaw Safori and spoken word by Cromwell Sackey.

In his welcome address, the General Manager of Accra Marriott Hotel, Luciano Scelza, said "Sustainability is at the heart of the Marriott brand, and we're striving to achieve a net zero by 2050."

Mr Scelza highlighted the hotel's remarkable partnerships and collaborations, including the Ghana Italian Women's Association, Missing Children Ghana, Associazione Zenzero NGO, among others.

The Director of Sales and Marketing, Rebekah Obeng, announced the hotel's festive promotions, including Signature Festive Cocktails, Lavish Christmas, New Year's Eve Dinners and a New Year's Eve Party.

The event concluded with a special appearance by Santa Claus who delighted the guests with gifts and smiles.
