Afro International Music festival officially launched in Accra

The next edition of Afro International Music festival has been launched at the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum in Accra with a call on Ghanaian creatives to promote Ghanaian and African culture.

The ceremony, hosted by musician and entrepreneur, Trigmatic saw in attendance a number of players in the creative industry including James Gardiner, Deputy Executive Director of National Film Authority (NFA) who delivered the key note address. 

In his address, Mr. Kelvin Amuzu, the newly appointed CEO of Afro International Music Festival, expressed his excitement and commitment to driving the festival's success.

“I am honoured to be leading this incredible initiative. The Afro International Music Festival is poised to become a premier platform for showcasing African talent and creativity, and I am eager to work with our team to make this vision a reality,” he stated.

The festival, scheduled to take place next year 2026, promises to bring together an eclectic lineup of both local and international African artists, musicians, and performers.

The festival is focused on creating a vibrant celebration of African music, art, and culture, while providing a platform for emerging talent sto shine.

Last year, the three day festival held from August 9-11saw performances from Efe Grace, Sarfo Newman, Kwame Yesu, Kimilist and up and coming artistes such as Riycon and Sobolo song.

Also, DJ Justice, DJ Cartoon and MC Sanke was behind the turntables to keep the crowd entertained and the energy high throughout the festival, spinning a mix of Afrobeat, Hip-Hop, and Dancehall tracks to keep the party going and organisers are confident that the next edition will be extra.
