Anita is Face of Vlisco 170th anniversary
Radio and television personality Anita Erskine was last Monday unveiled as the face of Vlisco’s 170 year anniversary celebration at an event to launch the occasion.
As part of her role as the face of the 170 anniversary campaign, Anita will be featured across various media, including a special documentary, billboards and other outlets showcasing her drive, passion, style and engagement in society.
Anita Erskine said, “Anyone who knows me knows how much I love the Vlisco brand. Wearing Vlisco allows me to stand out with pride, enabling me to celebrate my love for Africa. Vlsico has always held a special place in my heart and I could not be more honoured to be chosen as the face of their anniversary campaign.”
Speaking at the launch, the Managing Director of Vlisco Group, Ghana, Mr. Erik Van Der Staaij chronicled the journey of the Vlisco brand throughout the years through its inception in 1846 to the present.
He said over the years, the Vlisco brand has been committed to empowering African women economically, socially and culturally.
“Vlisco has a strong connection with Africa, especially with African women. And because of this, we would like to mark the celebrations by honouring various African women who have played indispensable roles in the success of the brand,” he said.
The Marketing Director of Vlisco Group, Ghana, Mr. Stephen Badu said there were a number of activities to mark the anniversary including a social media campaign, a shop window activation campaign at the flagship Vlisco boutique at the Accra Mall among others culminating in a mammoth fashion show at the end of the year.
“We are bringing the best and brightest of the Ghanaian fashion and style industry for a mammoth fashion show, and of course we will celebrate all women who have injected life and energy into the brand consistently,” he said.
