Briandt’s greetings of the season

 For the second time in three Christmases, solo artist Ekow Briandt, has released an album to celebrate the season and he does so in a fashion that demonstrates that the young man is determined to succeed despite the many challenges facing the Ghanaian music business today.

Firstly, it has become obvious that one can hardly make money from CD sales as most musicians are now turning to single releases via mobile telephony. 

Secondly, coming up with entirely fresh songs at Christmas may not yield immediate results since most people are used to much older ones.

Ekow Briandt definitely knows the hurdles in his way but looks determined to confront them willy nilly. So here he comes with Afehyiapa, a 12-song album on CD.

The songs are quite varied in terms of type and treatment but highlife and reggae dominate. Behind each song, the listener can discern a voice of true joy to match the season of Christmas. Merry Christmas, Afehyiapa, Bronya O, Ebenezer and Silent Night are all songs that carry the spirit of the season.
