Budding comedians get slot in Pure Comedy series
The pure comedy series, which is fast becoming one of the go-to comedy events for comedy lovers in the country, will be adding a new dimension to its line up with the introduction of slots for up-and-coming comedians.
This comedy series organised by Switchline Entertainment in collaboration with Luv FM, is in its fourth edition and will come off on Saturday, October 8, at the Miklin hotel in Kumasi at 6pm and 9pm.
Previously, the series has featured only established acts on its bill but CEO of Switchline Entertainment, David Aglah informed Showbiz that this edition will provide a platform for up and coming acts to showcase their talent to Ghanaians.
“At this point, it is fairly obvious that there is an abundance of comedic talents in the country who only need a platform to prove their worth. As an established comedian myself, I believe it is only fair that I do what I can to help the up and coming acts find their footing in the industry,” he said.
“We know the challenges up and coming acts face in their desire to make a name for themselves. There are many potential comedians out there and I am happy to help them anyway I can,” he said.
David Aglah said this was going to be a regular feature of the Pure Comedy Series and assured the public that the standard of the up and coming acts will be just as good as their established counterparts.
“I can assure patrons that they will be in for a real treat come Saturday and they should come prepared for surprises from up and coming acts as they rub shoulders with the best comedians the country has to offer ,” he added.
The line-up of comedians who will grace the stage at the Pure Comedy series include David Aglah, Foster Romanus, DKB, OB, Khemikal, Jacinta, Lekzy, Nino and Teekay.
