This year’s Stanbic Ghana Jazz Festival to be held on February 19 and February 20 at the Accra International Conference Centre, will be headlined by popular American guitarist, Earl Klugh.

This was revealed at a media briefing last Tuesday by Mr Mawuko Afadzinu, Head of Marketing and Communications at Stanbic Ghana.
He said the choice of Earl Klugh as the main act for this year was due to the quantum of requests that came through after last year’s splendid performance by British guitarist, Peter White.
“The reason why it is very useful to bring international acts into the country is the cross-fertilisation and the creative collaboration that happens between them and locally-based players,” Mr Afadzinu said.
He was hopeful veteran guitarist, Ebo Taylor and other good Ghanaian musicians would be on the bill.
Earl Klugh reminded the media through a telephone conversation that he had recorded over 30 albums and would play selections from them at the show.
The February 19 concert would be for guests of Stanbic Ghana and the various partners and service providers for the festival. The February 20 concert is open to the public.
Partnering Stanbic Ghana to stage the two-day jazz festival are Graphic Communications Group Limited, Quality Insurance Company, Buena Vista Homes, Vodafone and Delta Airlines.
