Efya, Ambolley talk music on VOA

Two Ghanaian musicians, Efya and Gyedu Blay Ambolley will on Friday, July 1 speak to the world via Voice of America (VOA) radio about their music careers and the music scene in Ghana.

Jane Fara Fauzzier Afia Awindor, known in music circles as Efya shares her musical journey and life as a soloist, after the split from the Irene & Jane music group. 

She will also use the opportunity to talk about her new album, Janesis.

The legendary Gyedu Blay Ambolley on the other hand joins VOA's Dr. Heather Maxwell in the studio in Washington DC to talk about his upcoming album he's currently mastering in the USA. 

He will also share his thoughts on the current music trend in Ghana among other musical topics.

"VOA is on a musical mission as it gives its global platform to musicians in Africa who are doing very well in their various countries and on the continent as a whole.

“Africa has the best musical rhythms and I believe very soon the whole world would be jamming to our tunes.

“Musicians on the continent should continue working hard so as to get to the meridian of their music careers," said University of Ghana's Eugene Selorm Owusu, who is VOA's stringer in Ghana.

The interviews with Efya and Ambolley air on the Music Time In Africa show, hosted by Dr. Heather Maxwell, tomorrow, Friday, July 1 at 21:00 GMT on the VOA Radio, which can be accessed in Accra Ghana on 98.1 FM and www.voanews.com across the globe.

A repeat broadcast is on Saturday July 2 at 09:00 GMT, 15:00 GMT and 20:00 GMT respectively.
