EMY Awards was good
The much anticipated Exclusive Men of the Year Awards (EMYs) came off last saturday at the Banquet Hall, State House, Accra and it was a good night.

But for the two-hour late start and the absence of most of the award winners, the event aimed at celebrating fathers and recognising men whose passion and commitment have rolled out major landmarks in the progress and development of the country suffered few hitches.
Organised by Exclusive Men’s Magazine, the awards, despite being its maiden edition was good. Sound was on point, sitting arrangement was perfect, stage design was superb and there was so much to eat and drink.
Right after the two MCs Nathaniel Attoh and Naa Ashorkor were introduced, the first set of awards which were the non-competitive were announced.
Some of the winners of that category include Former President John Agyekum Kuffour; Leadership Award, Azumah Nelson;Lifetime Achievement Award, Anas Aremeyaw Anas; Citizen of Ghana Award and Accra Friendship Club; Men’s Group Award.
In the the competitive awards category, the Ultimate Man of the Year went to Dr. Papa Kwesi Ndoum. Man of the Year- Sports went to Asamoah Gyan, Sarkodie;Man of the Year- Entertainment and it was a tie between Kwami Sefa Kayi and Nathaniel Kwabena Anokye Adisi (Bola Ray) for Man of the Year- Communications.
Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka won Man of the Year- Technology as well as Man of the Year- Agriculture. Man of the Year- Guardian went to Uncle Ebo Whyte, Dr. Osei Kwame Despite;Man of the Year- Corporate Business and Dr. Beatrice Wiafe;Yaa Asantewaa Award
The night saw some music performance too. Singer, Yaa Yaa mounted the stage to entertain guests made up of musicians, politicians, media personel, businessmen, entrepreneurs among others. Backed by the Old School band, Yaa Yaa performed songs such as Dumb Drum, Kai and Adom.

Despite being in a wheel chair, Paapa Yankson proved to the people in the auditorium that a legend is always a legend. And he received a standing ovation after his act.
Paapa Yankson performed songs such as Tena Me Nkyen, Okukuseku, Woara and Kokroko.
Saxophonist Steve Bedi was also in the house and he did not disappoint when he mounted the stage.
