The single, titled, Forever, was released on an Accra based radio station, Happy FM, last Friday. He did it in grand style by featuring Ghana’s fastest rapper and multiple award-winning artiste, Sarkodie.

In a pre-launch interview with Showbiz, the elated Nana Fynn said he was glad to have released something for his fans after all this while, “the last time I released was the Santrofi album in 2009 but I have been very busy behind the scenes working on other acts,” he said.

“I usually release every two to three years but it’s been almost five years now, people were expecting something in 2012 which didn’t come so here we are.”

What most people may not know about Nana Fynn is that he doubles as a sound engineer. He said for all the time that he was silent, he was busy working with other acts. “Truth is, I have been very busy with music though it was not necessarily my own work.”

Now that he has set the ball rolling, Nana Fynn says he will release four more singles between now and next year, “I already have two albums recorded, a highlife album and a reggae one so I will release them in due course,” he said.

Asked why he settled for Sarkodie on Forever, Nana Fynn said he and the former go way back, “we have been talking about doing something together for a long time so we just thought the time was right, we hit the studio and nailed it.”

Interestingly, Nana Fynn would not want his latest to be put in any genre of music though he is mainly known for doing contemporary highlife. “Just call it my latest, that’s all,” he said bursting into laughter.

Nana Fynn’s first album, Ankwansema was released in 2000 and he followed it up with other albums like Kotodwe, Odo Handkerchief, Dokodoko, Magic and Didini.

To his fans, here is what Nana Fynn had to say, “I am sorry for keeping you waiting longer than usual, I promise you will hear from me more often than I have done”.
