Furniture and art embrace at FurnArt
WALKING through the showroom of FurnArt Ghana Limited at Nyaniba Estates, Osu in Accra at the moment, is like strolling through a curated space meant to show what’s possible when smart creativity and craftsmanship embrace.
A unique collaboration between FurnArt and Konyo Museum of Contemporary Ghanaian Art (KMCGA) dubbed: “Living With Art and Furniture,” which illustrates how to display one’s valuable paintings and art posters alongside furniture to a dazzling effect, is underway.
Ghanaian painters whose works are in the exhibition which formally opens at 3 p.m. on Friday, February 14, include OwusuAntwi, Anane Asare, Frank Asomani and James Cudjoe.
“You do not have to be filthy rich to enhance your home,” said a representative of KMCGA. “On a modest income, you can completely transform a home with fine art, posters and furniture.”
Paintings act as accent pieces in contemporary interiors and effectively complement varieties of settings. Furniture has, in its own right, also become one of the collectibles of the art world and is even aggressively marketed as art.

“Interiors are longer simply decorated; they are actually curated and there is no better way to do that than with the right combination of fine art and good furniture,” the KMCGA spokesperson stated.
FurnArt is a leading furniture production outfit in Ghana. Established over four decades ago, Its exquisite wooden furniture is found in many homes and offices as well as in religious and commercial spaces in this country.
The Living With Art and Furniture exhibition is also in celebration of mothers and lovers.
