Graphic Showbiz holds forum on digitisation on June 22
COVID-19 has presented one of the most formidable challenges in recent history to governments, businesses and society.
It has been a wake-up call for various sectors of the economy including the creative industry, to find ways of dealing with disruptions and finding innovative solutions.
With the disruptions threatening livelihoods, technology has become the saviour for many in the creative industry. While its benefits are numerous, many in the creative sector are yet to fully tap into it.

It is in this light that Graphic Showbiz is organising a forum on Tuesday, June 22 to explore how the Ghanaian creative can maximise the use of technology to attain benefits.
Virtual shows
Recent happenings in the space of event organisation show that COVID-19 has become a defining moment in accelerating the digitisation process with majority of creative people presently relying on digital technology and connectivity more than ever to virtually conduct essential functions.
A number of Ghanaian artistes including rappers Edem and Sarkodie and Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale were among those who organised virtual shows at the height of the pandemic last year.
Events such as the 3Music Awards, Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and the Exclusive Men of the Year Awards made bold statements with their virtual shows as well.
And while they are all laudable, the virtual events are just an aspect of what digitisation entails and a number of panellists and special guests will be deliberating on it at the forum.
Panellists
The forum, on the theme: “Maximising benefits of digitisation in COVID-19 era,” will have panellists including rapper/Hiplife artiste Okyeame Kwame; fashion designer Mabel Simpson of Msimps; Sadiq Abdulai Abu, CEO of 3Music Awards; blogger Ameyaw Debrah and Film-maker/ CEO of Farmhouse Productions, Ivan Quashigah.
