Gyakie beats Angelique Kidjo, others to win Best West African Artiste at Headies 2022
GHANAIAN singer, Jackline Acheampong known in the entertainment industry as Gyakie has beaten the five-time Grammy Award winning Beninese Singer Angelique Kidjo and others to win Best West African Artiste at Nigeria’s Headies Awards.
Other established acts in the Best West African Artiste category included KiDi(Ghana), Amaarae(Ghana), Aya Nakamura (Mali) and Nelson Freitas(Cape Verde).
Gyakie in a tweet thanked her fans for supporting her to attain such feat.
She wrote "From Ghana to Naija, thanks for blessing the hardworking and big love to the fans."

Since her entrance into the music world, Gyakie has continually put out hits after smashes, which has fans humming her melodies.
She has been on a winning streak ever since the release of her debut SEED EP, and her expanding influence on the African music industry has been massively impressive.

The song bird has also garnered international collaborations with seasoned acts including Nigeria’s Davido, Omah Lay, Chika, Bisa KDei among others.
The 15th Headies Awards was held on September 4, 2022 at the COBB Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
