TO save young Gospel musicians the stress of combing for record labels to push their works, Harvest International Ministries (HIM) is set to establish one to help out.

The initiative has become very necessary following lack of a record label as one of the growing challenges of talented musicians.

In a conversation with Graphic Showbiz, Mr Joseph Addo- Yabo, Communication and Marketing Manager for Harvest International Ministries said “We are officially launching this project on April 7 at the 25 edition of Harvest Praise concert happening at the UPSA Auditorium, Legon, Accra and we know it will benefit a lot of Gospel musicians.”

According to him, it should be the responsibility of the church to see to the welfare of Gospel singers. However, the reverse is sometimes the situation of many young musicians who are forced to quit and bury their gifts for lack of support.

“Most Gospel musicians start their craft from the church but they hardly get support from the church, they struggle on their own to make it but we have to come in to help now.

“In Nigeria for instance, Christ Embassy has a record label and have signed on a lot of musicians who are doing amazingly well, we believe we can also do same here”, he added.

He explained that it will be a win win situation for the artistes and the church as well.

“Assuming we sign on about five artistes who do so well at home and abroad, they will raise the name of the church and according to the contract signed, both artistes and the church will benefit financially”, he stated.
