I don’t do cliques —Amanda Jissih

For some, a major drawback to the Ghanaian entertainment industry’s success is the cliques that have been formed where people associate themselves with those they are comfortable with.

Usually, when one offends a member of a clique, he or she would have stepped on the toes of all the other members of that clique and would be alienated, a situation that seems to be playing out a lot recently.

But one person who doesn’t do the whole clique thing is TV personality Amanda Jissih, who tells Graphic Showbiz that she doesn’t do that because she doesn’t want to inherit peoples’ enemies.

“I don’t want to inherit peoples’ enemies, I would rather be cool with everyone than be cool with just a group of people so for me, I don’t have any clique anywhere, I am cool with everybody.

“If I should have a clique then it should be with the big shots who are going to help my life financially, most of the cliques we have in the industry are not healthy with ‘beefs’ here and there,” she said.

Lately, Amanda, who has dabbled in acting, has taken it more seriously now and seems to be quite busy.

“I would say that by God’s grace, the scripts are really coming so that seems to be taking a bigger portion of my time now. It is stressful but I am loving it. Out there, I have always been bubbly but I am very quiet, if I am not working, I am always indoors.

“I am really enjoying my ‘me time’ because of past experiences, so if I have to be out, there has to be money involved, it shouldn’t just be to have fun because we are aging and I need to make money.

Currently, she is on the set of three different productions. “One is a movie, one is a TV series, while the other one is also an online series. “I am also working on an online reality weight loss show. It’s all about me because I have realised that most people who lose weight don’t come out with their honest journey.

“They don’t say what they actually did. Next thing you know, they have lost weight without us really knowing how they genuinely did it. The TV series is actually a birthday gift I want to give to myself this year in July so it’s something I am also working on,” she said.

Away from acting and TV duties, Amanda Amanda has a food company Fed By Emmay and she does shito for sale as and she does shito for sale, as well as takes orders. “I cook for women who are too busy to do that, so usually for the weekend or the whole week,” she stated.

Is Amanda dating? “I am not dating, I am waiting to be found so I have left it in the hands of God. I don’t want to rush because if I have to go into something then it has to be something that I wouldn’t want to come out.

“From the few experiences that I have had in my relationships, I don’t want to rush into anything,” she stated.

We asked her if there has been pressure from her family for her to settle down. “There have been concerns but not pressure. They know what I have been through so there is no way they will bring pressure.

“I have brought a man home before, there was an introduction and all but it didn’t go well. Every parent wants their daughter to get married but I believe in God’s time. If I have to get married, I wouldn’t want anything loud, something very private,” she said.
