Image Bureau, April Communications prep for ‘The Gods Are Not To Blame’
CHRISTMAS will come early for theatre enthusiasts when Image Bureau in collaboration with April Communications and National Theatre of Ghana host Ola Rotimi’s The Gods Are Not To Blame at the National Theatre on Saturday December 2 and Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 4pm and 8 pm each day .
"Ola Rotimi's The Gods Are Not To Blame, an adaptation of Greek legend Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex is a timeless masterpiece, and we are thrilled to be part of this endeavour," said actress and TV personality, Naa Ashorkor, CEO of April Communications.

"This collaboration is not only to showcase our commitment to promoting culture and the arts but also represents an opportunity to celebrate the rich tapestry of African storytelling.
According to her, the play will be directed by CEO of Image Bureau, George Quaye. “George is known for his outstanding work on productions such as Run For Your Wife and A Detective Calls. His creative vision is set to elevate the experience, promising a theatrical journey that will leave a lasting impact on audiences”, she stated.
The Gods Are Not To Blame which promises to captivate patrons will feature a star-studded cast made up of actors such as David Dontoh, Fred Amugi, Mawuli Semevor, Andrew Tandoh-Adote Naa Ashorkor among others.
Throwing more light on the joint venture, George Quaye who is also President of the Arts and Tourism Writers Association of Ghana said “coming together marks yet another milestone for Image Bureau, April Communications and the National Theatre of Ghana as we continue to push the boundaries of African theatre and provide audiences with world-class productions.
“The play promises to be a cultural landmark, drawing from both African and Greek storytelling traditions to create a mesmerising and thought-provoking experience.
“You know, the production's themes of fate, destiny, and the human condition resonate across time and cultures, making it a play that goes beyond borders and speaks to the universal aspects of the human experience”, he added.
