A member of the organising team, Fiifi Folson of Sunny FM, told Showbiz that the honour was in “celebration of a man who has dedicated his life to the kingdom of God”.
Many of these young gospel artistes, he said, learnt the “rudiments of ministry work” from Danny Nettey and so honouring him is in the right direction.
Danny released his debut album, Positive Change, in 1995 which gave him prominence. His style of music endeared him to many young people back then. The following year, he released his second album, Pals.
He later established the About Time Productions Ministries with the aim of training other young talents.
In the past 20 years, Nettey has been touching lives through his songs and his work has seen him perform in many parts of the world. He has worked with international artistes such as Ron Kenoly and Richard Thompson who featured him on his song, I Am the Lord.
He has also shared the same stage with renowned gospel artistes like Bishop T. D. Jakes, Bebe Winans, Kirk Franklin, Israel Houghton, Don Moen, and Alvin Slaughter.
