Koby Symple is Artiste of the Year at 2023 Central Music Awards
Highlife/Afrobeats musician, Koby Symple has been crowned Artiste of the Year at the 2023 edition of the Central Music Awards held recently at the Centre for National Culture in Capecoast.
The annual event is committed to celebrating and honouring the hard work of artistes in the Central region in the year under review.

This year’s event marking the 12th edition also saw Kobby Symple, real name Godfred Kobina Abavana, winning the Afropop Song of the Year with ‘Straight Win’. 35 awards were presented on the night.
After 10 years of serving music enthusiasts with his music, Koby Symple, a graduate of the University of Capecoast marked a significant milestone in his career when he held his maiden show dubbed, Dear Mr Symple at the Pempamsie Hotel, Cape-Coast on Friday, August 25. The event also saw him unveil his new EP titled Dear Mr Symple which had five songs namely Straight Win, Striker, Ekye, Adam Nana and Straight Win (Amapiano version).
In a chat with Graphic Showbiz, Kobby Symple, who has worked with the likes of Sarkodie, Medikal and Kofi Kinaata was full of gratitude for the recognition.
He said that success doesn’t always come on a silver platter and he was particularly excited that his works over the years were duly being recognised now.
“Success is a combination of hard work and consistency and I’m grateful to God that in His own time, I have been honoured in my home as Artiste of the Year. This award is the beginning of new exploits in my career,” he said.

This year’s Central Music Awards was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, corporate business executives, media personalities among a host of others.
