Linmart Media sign on Guyana act, Kaiya
GHANAIAN record label, Linmart Media have signed on Reggae/Afropop singer Kaiya from Guyana to promote her works in Ghana.
This relationship will also see Linmart Media strike possible collaboration deals for her with top Ghanaian artistes. She is billed to perform at the Ghana Music Awards UK scheduled for October this year.
Kaiya released her debut, You Lost Me in March 2020. This was followed by another single, So Nice. She is currently working on her album with Esan Benzy, one of Guyana's top crossover performers.

She decribes her music as Reggae fusion, slow jams filtered with calming rhythms. “Nature, meditation, and listening to music from the past to the present are my sources of musical inspiration.
“Whitney Houston, Lauryn Hill, Jill Scott, India Arie, Monica, Tanya Stephens, Destra Garcia, Allison Hinds influence my music style”, she said.
Born in Guyana, Kaiya, real name Keisha Thomas, developed a love for singing at a young age. She loved to sing in church and also took part in several school's concerts.

Kaiya later moved to Bridgetown, Barbados in her teens where she made the decision to develop her musical career by learning about the industry and getting professional vocal training.
While at it, she joined local bands in both Barbados and Guyana where she performed in various talent competitions and garnered multiple awards for her singing.

Kaiya who put her music career on hold briefly after giving birth is back on the music scene and determined to be a force to reckon with in the music industry.
As an emerging artiste, she continues to release Reggae Lovers Rock and Afro-Caribbean jams while recording with Paradigm Records Guyana. She is also working on single collaborations with other studios, such as AJ Legendary and Hardball Entertainment, in addition to her upcoming EP projects.
“I wish to collaborate with Wyclef and one day open the stage for Chronix as I grow in my career. I believe all these and even bigger things will happen.
“Always believe in yourself and never give up is my counsel to myself and people who may feel inadequate”, she added.
