Meet DJ Zel, the youngest Ghanaian International DJ

Ghanaians are said to be blessed with talents in various endeavours in life and Zelda Nana Yaa Adepa Dedaa Manteaw popularly known as DJ Zel, is certainly no exception, as she continues to make significant strides in her chosen career.

The nine-year-old is not only a Disk Jockey (DJ) but also endowed with versatile qualities which include singing and dancing.

The young international act musical journey began in 2017 when she sang at school in class two (2).

She had had stints at a variety of accomplished choirs, including performing at the Barbican Centre for the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan for London Living Wage and also performing at St. Georges Cathedral just to mention a few of dazzling performances in the UK.

At her young age, DJ Zel was recently signed as the official DJ to play on the popular entertainment UnAfrik Show on GN Radio based in the UK and airs every Saturday from 10 pm to 12 am.

DJ Zel upon penning this deal had become the youngest female DJ who plays on a radio station.

But one might be wondering how this dream started. DJ Zel started her DJ career back in November 2018 and received her DJ training at the Subbass Academy of Electronic Music in Westminster and is currently receiving DJ lessons at London Sounds Academy, North West London.

Her Ghanaian parents, Mr Reginald Manteaw and Mrs Jennifer Manteaw, have lived in the UK for the past 20 years and have been supportive of their young prodigy as she looks to make Ghana proud.

DJ Zel, certainly has the best selections on the turntable playing different music genres including Afrobeats, Hip-life, Hip-hop, R&B and Gospel.

DJ Zel’s recent electrifying performance at the UnAfrik Live Jam in Leicester, UK has kept her fans enthralled by her amazing turntable ingenuity as she touted for greatness.

The Zel management have planned for her visit to Ghana in July as she embarks on an advocacy initiative on environmental education.

She will also visit orphanages to share with them clothes, food and drinks as well as visiting children wards across major hospitals in the country.
