Miss Tourism at World Travel Market

Ghana’s Youth Tourism Ambassador and Miss Tourism Ghana 2013, Jessica Jemila Kawra, will tomorrow, Sunday, November 3, join the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare and other tourism sector dignitaries to promote Ghana at the World Travel Market in London.

The annual event is aimed at increasing tourism trade deals.

“I am looking forward to sharing all that Ghana has to offer with top tourism executives from around the world," Miss Kawra said.

"From historic world heritage sites to ecological wonders, amazing fashion and food, Ghana has it all,” she observed.

While in London, Miss Kawra will also attend the fourth annual Ghana-U.K. Based Achievement Awards (GUBA) as an award presenter.

Scheduled to take place at the plush Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel, the GUBA awards will celebrate Ghanaians in Britain who provide excellent and valuable services to Ghanaians in the UK and at home.

She will visit the House of Commons, attend the Winihin Jemide Series Symposium, which, in collaboration with the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, is creating the platform for the first African-focused  Women in Government and Politics Conference.

The invited speakers and panellists include: Dr Joyce Banda, President of the Republic of Malawi; Mr John Agyekum Kufuor, Former President of Ghana, and Ambassador Dr Erieka Faye Bennett, Convening Founder and Head of Mission of the African Union Diaspora Forum and others.

The queen will also call on Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK and meet with the UK Carnival Arts team in Luton and the Ghana Society, organisers of the Kente Awards and Miss Tourism Ghana-U.K.
