MUSIGA, Music In Africa host music business training

The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), in partnership with Music In Africa Foundation, will host a seminar on current trends in music business on Tuesday, August 16 at the Virtual Hub, East Legon in Accra.

Themed Leveraging Digital Tools for Career Enhancement, the seminar kicks off at 10.00am.

Topics to be discussed include Building and Managing Your Brand by Prof Emmanuel Osei Akyeampong; The New Music Business by Ahuma Bosco Ocansey, MUSIGA’s Director of Special Projects and Communications and Making Money in the Digital Space by Kwabena ‘Spikey’ Ofei Kwadey Nkrumah.

A statement signed by MUSIGA’s acting President, Bessa Simons, said the seminar forms part of the capacity-building programmes being undertaken by the national leadership of the union to improve the capacities of musicians to stay competitive on the scene.

A second training session will be held in Kumasi on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. The sessions will be streamed live on Facebook on the Musicians Union of Ghana(MUSIGA) page.

MUSIGA asks for calm after another election postponement

“Both seminars will serve as trainer of trainees forums  since we cannot directly reach all musicians nationwide. So participants  in the  programmes will go back to their home regions and share the knowledge,” MUSIGA’s acting President stated.

The German Federal Foreign Office, Siemens Stiftung and Goethe-Institut are supporting the seminars.
