According to Niiella, the album is inspired by her experiences in life while growing up and she wants to tell the world the different ways God shows mercy to His people as they go through the various phases of life.
In an interview with Showbiz last Friday, Niiella said the songs on the album have different music genre ranging from worship, afro-pop to hip hop. “Both the audio and visual recordings were done live in order to capture the raw emotion and sentiments for my listeners.
Niiella born Daniella Dankwah Coffie who already has three singles to her credit said she was excited about her maiden album.
‘Every song on Shades of Mercy comes as story of my life, right from when I was 16 years old.
“I Need You, for instance, was from when I was going through difficulties with school, family and personal decisions I had to make for myself about life
“Most of the songs, with the exception of Obiara Nni Ho, were done with the assistance of my brothers. Obiara Nni Ho was co-written by VGMA Artiste of the Year 2016, Joe Mettle”, the singer who doubles as a natural hair stylist added.
