Okyeame Kwame to build paediatric centre at Manhyia Hospital to mark 50th birthday
Ghanaian music icon Okyeame Kwame is set to mark his 50th birthday this April with a legacy project aimed at improving child healthcare in the Ashanti Region.
As part of the milestone celebration, the award-winning rapper plans to build a paediatric emergency centre at Manhyia District Hospital, a move that underscores his commitment to national development beyond music.
The project will be funded through a grand birthday fundraiser scheduled for April 18, 2026, at +233 Jazz Bar & Grill. The event, which starts at 9 p.m., is expected to draw some of the country’s biggest music stars.
Artistes billed to perform include Kuami Eugene, KiDi, King Paluta, Amerado, MzVee, Sista Afia, Afriyie Wutah, Kwabena Kwabena, Kweku Darlington, Abiana, Akwaboah, Abochi, Bradez, Ras Kuuku, Adina and Andy Dosty.
Tickets for the event are priced at GHS1,500 for VVIP and GHS1,000 for VIP, with all proceeds going directly towards the construction of the facility, which is expected to enhance emergency care for children and save lives.
Over the years, Okyeame Kwame has remained a strong advocate for Ghanaian culture and identity, promoting indigenous languages such as Akan in his music and championing the “Made in Ghana” agenda on global platforms.
By dedicating his golden jubilee to a project of this scale, he not only celebrates a personal milestone but also reinforces his reputation as a socially conscious artiste committed to making a lasting impact.
