Rainstorm on the runway

“Rain, rain go away, come again another day”, patrons to last Sunday’s “Rhythmz on Da Runway” fashion and music extravaganza prayed. But the rain did not go away it came down heavily accompanied by a windstorm and partly denied organiser KOD’s promise to deliver  an eclectic blend of Ghanaian fashion and music from six unique fashion designers and seven extraordinary performers.

Yet for the ninety minutes -plus that the show ran before the rainstorm, it was a blast.

Besides the clothes, accessories, bags and hats on display, patrons saw male entertainment personalities such as Captain Planet of 4X4 , Benny Blanco of Jamming Spot, Black Star’s former captain Stephen Appiah, Blaq Boi of Rythymz, Keitta of Big Brother and PY Addo of One Show  take to the runway modelling NINETEEN57 clothes by KOD.

Female celebrities who modelled other designs like Velma Prof, House of Adjeiwaa, Ophelia Crossland and Emma Bird included actress Chantelle, Miss Maliaka 2012 Sharon, Sandra Ankobeah of Fashion 101 and singer Eazzy.

There were performances by seasoned Ghanaian musicians Manifest, Eazzy, Wutah Afriyie, Adina, Cwesi Oteng and Wulomei  with Nigerian comedian Hogan entertaining the audience with rib-splitting jokes.

Unfortunately appearances by  Sakordie, Pat Thomas, Kwabena Kwabena, Kwesi Pee and Efya were rained off.

The event was sponsored by Vodafone, Forever Claire, Baileys, Hisense, Colur Planet and Golden Tulip.
