The New Patriotic Party (NPP) launched its 2024 manifesto at the Ghana Secondary Technical School in Takoradi yesterday, unveiling a comprehensive package to boost the creative industry. Key highlights from the launch include:

- Special travel privileges for creatives through the establishment of a Travel Protocol Service (TPS), facilitating international performances and shows.

- Tax incentives, including a flat tax, to attract private sector investments in sports, tourism, and creative arts facilities.

- Implementation of an e-visa policy for swift and convenient visa acquisition for international visitors.

- Introduction of a visa-free policy for nationals of African and Caribbean countries visiting Ghana.

- Collaboration with the private sector to launch a streaming and digital management platform for Ghanaian creative content developers.

These initiatives aim to empower the creative industry, foster growth, and position Ghana as a hub for arts and culture. 

The manifesto reaffirms commitments made by Presidential Candidate Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia during his UPSA lecture on February 7, 2024.

Meanwhile, in their 2020 manifesto, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) made several commitments to support the creative industry, including:

- Building a world-class convention and exhibition center at the Ghana Trade Fair Company site in La, one of the largest of its kind globally.

- Establishing the Creative Arts Fund to provide financial support to artistes and creatives.

- Expanding theatrical infrastructure by:

    - Completing the theatre in Kumasi

    - Constructing new theatres in Takoradi and Tamale

- Boosting the music industry with the provision of state-of-the-art recording studios.
