Review: R2Bees' “Boys Kasa”

Ghanaian music group, R2Bees, made of up Omar Sterling and Mugeez are back again with yet another masterpiece titled “Boys Kasa”.

The four minutes and 50 seconds (4:50) track, produced by Killbeatz and Killmatic, features eight other popular Ghanaian artistes.

They are King Promise, Kwesi Arthur, Medikal, B4bonah and La Meme Gang (made up of Darkovibes, RJZ, Spacely and Humble Dis).

The award-winning musical duo released the song about a week ago, as a warm-up track to their much-anticipated “Site 15” album.

“Boys Kasa” is originally an Afro beats song but fuses a bit of hip-pop, hip-life and dancehall vibes.

The title of the song, “Boys Kasa” which is an Akan phrase, literary means “boys talk.” They then go ahead to say that although boys talk, their talk is full of noise.

The track opens with Omar Sterling melodiously humming the chorus with his heavy baritone voice, which fades at some point, particularly when his lines are ending.

Omar Sterling’s thick voice was perfect for the begging of the song. However, shortly after his opening chorus, the ‘CCTV’ hit-maker, King Promise then takes over and introduces a bit of style, before Kwsei Arthur comes in with some rap bars.

Similarly, the likes of Darkovibes, RJZ and Mugeez follow up with their respective lines, before Specely and Humble Dis also stepping in with some dancehall vibes.

Medikal and B4bonah punctuate the song with some rap lines at the tail end before Omar Sterling comes in again with a repeat of the opening chorus.

Since the release of the song in about two weeks ago, it has received airplay on both radio and television channels, hence making the song the talk in the showbiz industry.

“Boys Kasa” as of October 26, 2018, has already garnered over 256,306 views on YouTube with over 644 comments. This, I think, it’s a good indication that the song is highly gaining acceptance among music lovers in the country and beyond.

On the scale of 10, I will give them eight because I think it is a good collaboration and I love the song.
