The Game slapped with $75,000 lawsuit
The Game has been slapped with a lawsuit after failing to show at this year’s Kentucky Derby.
The rapper, born Jayceon Raylor, along with his manager, Cash Jones, are being sued for more than $75,000 in damages for breach of contract, Courthouse News reports.
Raylor was scheduled to perform at the event on May 2 and was wired a $35,000 deposit, but Jones allegedly canceled the day of the performance after his demands that the rapper would headline were not met.
“Following multiple discussions, defendant, Cash Jones, made an eleventh-hour determination that The Game would not travel to Louisville and would not perform at the event,” the plaintiff, Dream Team Entertainment LLC, said in its seven-page complaint.
After backing out last minute, The Game reportedly never repaid his deposit or the $30,000 cancellation fee.
This marks at least the sixth time The Game has been involved in a lawsuit since 2012, Courthouse News notes.
Prior to this incident, he was accused of failing to show at two concerts in the Middle East and was also arrested in 2005 for disorderly conduct when someone from his entourage got into a fight with mall security.
