Samini

Top stars at MTN Hit-Maker final

It is obviously a show with focus on new talents for the music business but the impressive list of guest artistes scheduled to perform is also a big pull for the final event of this year’s MTN Hit-Maker programme.

The five contestants for the final show at the National Theatre today, Thursday are Mac-M, Snow B, Torgbe, Naba and Emperor. But the fun at the show would not only be about how the contestants eventually do but also what the more established names like  Samini, VVIP and Kaakie bring along to spice the night.

Samini is this year marking a decade of prominence on the music scene and would want to exhibit aspects of the hard work behind the big leaps he has made over the years.

Reggie had his approach to rap before hooking up with Prodigal and Zeal (formerly Lazzy) to bring out VVIP.

They have a major single, Selfie doing fairly well out there but how they blend in a live performance is what would be of immense interest to most people at the show.

Kaakie has been on the quiet for a while but she gave a great performance at the last Legends and Legacy Ball in Accra.

She looked trimmer and pleased everybody at that show with her decision to put dancehall stuff aside to just sing and dance a lot to show how much lighter she felt. A good show is expected from her at the National Theatre tomorrow.

Also billed to perform are actor and comedian Lil Win as well as three products from the two previous MTN Hit-Maker contests: Miriam, Koo Ntakara and Cano-Z.

Judges for the MTN Hit-Maker final –Bessa Simons, Ofie Kodjoe and Hammer of the Last Two may have it tough deciding on who wears the crown this year.

For some of the general music fans, however, the key thing is to have fun and they trust the guest performers on the bill would help provide a lot of that.
