Brakwa Senior High Technical School needs modern library
I wish to appeal to the government through the Ghana Library Authority, which is mandated to establish, equip, maintain and manage public libraries in Ghana, to come to the aid of the Brakwa Senior High Technical School in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District of the Central Region to establish a modern library for the institution.
This is because the current one in the school is not up to standard. It cannot even accommodate more than 25 students.
A school that has existed for nearly two decades and has a student population of about 1,000 needs a modern library to bridge the information gap.
The role libraries play in the development of society, the country and the world at large cannot be downplayed.
Libraries are institutions founded by society to meet its several needs: education, research, recreation, cultural activities, etc.
Traditionally, libraries have been central hubs for learning, study, research and education.
They offer great access to an array of educational resources, such as books.
Libraries play a significant role in the country's development by supporting the education sector and supplying relevant resources for accessing information.
The fundamental role of the library in a school is to support the school's mission and aims and to promote effective teaching and learning.
In modern society, the library is regarded as the "Gateway of Knowledge for the Community".
