Every day gives you many opportunities to take decisions.
Once we are blessed with another day, we have to take decisions about what to do.
You take a decision to have your quiet time with the Lord.
You decide what to have for breakfast.
ou decide whether to react in a rash manner or to ponder over the issue first.
You decide what manner of work to do!
You decide the amount of effort to put in what you do! You decide what to eat! You decide what to wear!
Many are the decisions of an individual in a day.
Decision-making is one of the most important things a person does in life
Imagine having to make many decisions for a group of people!
That is the work of a leader! Imagine having to take decisions to make the whole universe run right! That is the work of Jehovah!
Some decisions of Jehovah
• When the Earth was without form, void and covered with darkness, God took a decision to create Heaven and Earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Genesis 1:2
Jehovah God has taken many wonderful decisions for the whole universe to function right.
When the earth was without form, Jehovah decided to create heaven and earth out of that formless void.
May you be able to take decisions to make great things out of the seeming nothings in your life!
• When God realised that man was lonely, He took a decision to create a woman.
And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. Genesis 2:18
That was an amazing decision by God which changed everything.
Adam was with every creature you can imagine, save another like himself.
God realised how lonely Adam was.
God’s response to Adam’s loneliness was a decision to create a woman.
May God guide you to take decisions to solve your pressing needs in life!
• When the Earth was full of wickedness, God took a decision to kill all the human beings and leave only Noah and his family alive.
And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. Genesis 6:5-7
One of the amazing things about God is that He is not without a solution in the face of any problem.
Sometimes we throw our hands up in frustration when we are faced with issues we cannot handle.
When you are face-to-face with a problem beyond you, take some time to ponder over it and take a decision.
No matter how difficult the situation is, there is a solution.
Sometimes the decision seems very difficult to accomplish but it is the solution.
Go ahead and take that decision!
It is better to take a decision and move forward than to sit down and grieve, whilst sinking deeper into the mire. Pray! Ask God for wisdom! Take that decision! And implement it!
• When God saw Noah’s sacrifice, he took a decision not to destroy all living things any more.
And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more everything living, as I have done. Genesis 8:21
That was yet another decision by Jehovah! God destroyed the whole earth with water.
He spared Noah, his three sons and their spouses and the animals that were in the ark.
Noah made a sacrifice to God and God’s response to that included a decision not to destroy everything again as He had done.
God is not wanting when it comes to decisions.
You can be like that too.
Many people cannot and do not take decisions but real leaders face up to realities and take important decisions.
Remember that the failure to take a decision is a failure to lead. So, dear leader, go ahead and take the necessary decisions!
Failure to take a decision can lead to the destruction of all that you are building.
