Kudos Axis Pensions Trust
I write to congratulate the Axis Pensions Trust on a commendable job.
In early June this year, I received a 'strange" email from an unknown contact stating that I had some tens of thousands lodged in my Tier 2 Pensions Fund account with Axis Pensions.
I initially dismissed the message, but after further inquiries, I was informed that my former employer had lodged detailed statement contributions on my behalf for nearly 15 years without my knowledge, all in my name.
That led me to search through other pension fund managers.
The discoveries are staggering: various sums lodged with several managers, covering over 15 years of contributions without my knowledge due to having multiple former employers.
Dear National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA), how can we assist with disclosures to inform people about their Tier 2 Pension Funds?
It becomes even more complicated if an individual has multiple former employers, especially if some of those employers have closed down.
Fund managers can also improve by reaching out to contributors to update them; otherwise, many will have tens of thousands lodged in their names but will be living in penury in their old age.
Once again, thank you, Axis Pensions, for being a trustworthy trustee.
Frank Mensah-Pah.
