Recognise dedication of engineers

The Institution of Engineering and Technology Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting ethical practice, innovation, and professional excellence, as the world commemorates Engineers Day on March 4, 3036.

On this year’s World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development, observed on March 4 and endorsed by UNESCO, we celebrate the invaluable contributions of engineers to national development and global sustainability.

Engineering remains the backbone of infrastructure delivery, environmental protection, industrial growth, and technological advancement.

In Ghana, engineers continue to play a critical role in addressing challenges confronting the country: climate change, sanitation, resilient infrastructure, energy transition, and sustainable urban development.

As Institution of Engineering and Technology Ghana, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting ethical practice, innovation, and professional excellence.

We also encourage young people to pursue engineering careers, knowing that the future of our nation’s development depends on their skills, creativity, and integrity.

Let us use this occasion to recognise the dedication of engineers across the country and to strengthen collaboration between government, industry, academia, and professional bodies in building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Ghana.

IET-GH particularly appreciates and commends the hardworking engineers across the country’s institutions and organizations — including Tema Oil Refinery, Volta River Authority, Electricity Company of Ghana, Ghana Grid Company Limited, the Works & Roads departments of MMDAs, Ministry of Works, Housing & Water Resources, Ghana Highways Authority, Building Roads and Research Institute of CSIR, Ghana Standards Authority, Urban Roads and Feeder Roads Departments, Ghana Water Company Limited, Community Water and Sanitation Agency, private engineering firms, technical and traditional engineering universities, hospitals, consulting firms, and licensed mining companies — for their dedicated efforts in improving the living conditions of the people of Ghana.

Appreciation

As we commemorate this year’s celebration, IET-GH expresses its deep appreciation to all engineers across the country whose dedication, innovation, and professionalism continue to drive development while responding to the growing challenges of climate change, urbanisation, and environmental sustainability.

Your work remains vital to building resilient communities and a sustainable future for our nation.
