Tomorrow, you will be too feeble to do what you were strong enough to do today. If anything should be done, it is now. The time is now! Start today. Start now. Time is not on your side

How old are you... not?

Most ladies can’t keep any secret except the secret of their age. Some gentlemen, somewhat, are like ladies when the matter of age comes to the fore. They would hold on to it with all their life.

A lot more others would slash it down to meet some requirements in life. Tell you what, some ladies today even slash theirs down to be married!

When I once disclosed that I was fruitfully 27 years old, some friends wondered, “Why would you flaunt your age in public?” As though it was another world wonder to spew my age, they advised that others won’t respect one they were older than. I laughed.

If you disrespect others for their age, you need more than Christ. Literally! We respect people for who they are and how fruitfully they have made use of their existence; ‘old’ or not.

The million dollar question, thus, is… is age only a number? It is? Would you ‘ideally’ marry someone four decades older or younger than you are? I hinted “ideally” because I know others wouldn’t mind doing so for visa sake. Ayekoo!

If age is just a number why won’t you wait till you attend primary or high school at 40 years? After all, life begins at 40. If age is only a tag, why would many jobs slam an age limit on their vacancies? Why would sports require an age ceiling if age was only a figure!?

Age is more than just a number. Age is not just a figure. Your age is not just a figure label like a jersey number!

Age may just be a number in one context. In that context, regardless of one’s age (especially young ones), they shouldn’t be perturbed. In other words, one’s age shouldn’t be a limitation to achieve greatness.

One shouldn’t, thus, think they are too young to start and succeed in business. Age, hence, is just a number. One shouldn’t admit they are too young to be at the top. Age, hence, is just a figure.

Largely on the other hand, age is not a mere number tag. One doesn’t idle their lives away thinking their age is only a number… and that… there’s more time. We don’t waste our lives away now assuming that we have all the time on Earth, thus, more opportunities are yet to come.

One day, you will be too old to chase your dreams. There will be no strength! Soon, you will exceed the employment age limit. When retirement comes knocking at your door, your age being just a number is no excuse! One day, you will ‘expire’. Your expertise will be outmoded.

Make use of your opportunities today. Start your dreams. Start pursuing that postponed vision. Life reminds us that our dreams have a start line. Death reminds us that our dreams have a deadline. If retirement doesn’t come knocking, death may.

Tomorrow, you will be too feeble to do what you were strong enough to do today. If anything should be done, it is now. The time is now! Start today. Start now. Time is not on your side.

Life is no race but it is no place where we toddle either. Life is no competition but definitely it is no joke either. Life is a matter of urgency. If you don’t treat your life as a matter of urgency today, you will treat it as an emergency tomorrow.

I have always maintained that one shouldn’t wait till their lives become an emergency. We are not ambulances!

Your age is not only a number so invest well. Tomorrow, you may not have the opportunities available to you today. Your age may be that boundary that would preclude you from opportunities. Someone may want to give you an opportunity but… your age. Someone may want to hire you but… your age.

Today, if you have the opportunity, invest in your dream budget… not your dream gadget. The luxuries can wait. Invest in assets that can, at least, reap some benefits when your age becomes a limitation. Invest in assets that would appreciate over time, not otherwise.

Invest in your mind… not your stomach. Invest in your skills. Invest!

I have seen many old folks today who were labelled as filthy rich back in the days. Today, their abject poverty is so glaring that no one would even want to get near them for fear of being infected.

I wonder, “What happened? Did they think time would always be their bosom friend?”

Time is no friend of man. You may always not be that virile, young, rich, famous man. You may not have all the ladies chasing after you a decade or two from now. You may be too old. The only value they may find in you may be your money, if you still have any.

If you have been blessed with wealth today, invest. Invest in your family. Invest in the poor. Invest in people. Invest in yourself.

Have fun… but not as an extremist. Don’t waste your money on alcohol and women ‘papping’ (whatever that means). Before you know, you’re 45 or even 60… and still ‘papping’. A young ‘papper’ will obviously be an old pauper!

Today, how old are you… not? Are you 20 yet thinking life will be same at 50? Are you 30 and still having petty thoughts like a teenager? Are you 45 yet thinking your age is just a number? Well… if it’s just a number, it might as well be just a dream. Wake up!
