The Electoral Commission (EC) has addressed a misleading video circulating on social media, which falsely claims that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) smuggled money in EC-branded bags.
According to the EC, the video actually depicted the destruction of ballot papers for the Ahafo and Volta regions, as previously announced by the Commission before the 2024 elections in December.
The commission said the destruction was carried out by Zoomlion on behalf of the EC in preparation for the 2024 general election.
