Key among the proposals is an extension of the presidential term of office from four years to five years, as part of recommendations aimed at strengthening governance and policy continuity.

Police foil suspected robbery at Ashaiman; Three suspects killed
A suspected armed robbery attack at Community 24 in Ashaiman in Greater Accra was foiled by the police on Sunday, resulting in the death of three suspects.
The incident occurred 1:30am on Sunday [December 21, 2025] .
The Tema Regional Police Command foiled the robbery attempt at a private residence in the area.

AG to prosecute Chairman Wontumi over alleged GH¢24m Exim Bank fraud
The Attorney-General, Dr Dominic Ayine, has announced the commencement of prosecution proceedings against the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, widely known as Chairman Wontumi, over an alleged defrauding of the Ghana Export-Import Bank.
According to the A-G, Chairman Wontumi took a total of GH¢24,255,735 through a farming scheme which promised jobs for young people but yielded none.

LPG's Kofi Akpaloo to be charged over GH¢3.1million COCOBOD payment
The Attorney General, Dr Dominic Ayine, says his office will take legal action against the founder and leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Percival Kofi Akpaloo over a GH¢3,169,432.22 payment from COCOBOD, which was meant for a different contractor in a cocoa roads project.
According to the Attorney-General, Kofi Akpaloo and his wife incorporated a company and used it to divert the total payment of GH¢3,169,432.22 in various tranches.
