Obama, Bush to Attend Mandela Memorial Celebration

The people of South Africa are preparing Monday for the memorial celebration for anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela.

More than 50 heads of state are expected to attend the memorial, including President Barack Obama, former Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Sunday was a national day of prayer for the anti-apartheid leader who became South Africa's first black president.

The day was marked by grief and celebration as churches and houses of worship across the nation offered prayers and song.

Young and old alike have been remembering Mandela's legacy.

"I'm here to celebrate the life of Mandiba," 11-year-old Sibongile Dukuza said. "He fought for us, for freedom. If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't be here."

The memorial for Mandela will be held Tuesday and his body will lie in state from Wednesday to Friday.
