Going nude not my style - Arbbyna

Although it has not been easy for Afro Pop musician Arbbyna to breakthrough, she says going nude like some of her colleagues have done to get attention is the last option she will take.

“It has become a cheap way to rise to fame with nudity and controversy but that is not my style. With my talent, I know I will surely get there, it is just a matter of time,” she said.

According to Arbbyna real name Stephanie Awura- Abena Gyesi, if female artistes such as Adina and Wiyaala have achieved success without showing skin, she would also go down the dignified path.
“The fact that Ebony shot to fame with that strategy doesn’t mean it will work for everyone but unfortunately, many people are ignoring that.

Every young female artiste believes showing skin is the way to go but how beneficial is that when you don’t have the talent to back it? Ebony had the ability but do you have the same capabilities?” she asked.

Arbbyna entreated her colleagues who were hungry for fame to take the advice of celebrated Dancehall artiste, Abrewa Nana that female acts should show talent and not skin.

On her music, Arbbyna is out with her latest song, Twedea recorded by Willis Beatz. Twedea talks about a lady who wants a strong man to be her husband and her wish is granted when she meets a man who has the qualities she is looking for.

She said the song is to teach ladies to be patient and not succumb to societal pressure to settle for any man who asks for marriage.

The old student of Aggrey Memorial High School in Cape Coast disclosed her admiration for female musicians, Adina, Becca and MzVee and also pleaded with DJs to play songs by new artistes.

“This is just a passionate appeal to DJs to give attention to young artistes like myself by playing our songs, we go through hell to promote our songs,” she added.
