Accra Academy SHS honours four past students
The Accra Academy Senior High School has named four residential halls after four past students of the school, for their immense contribution towards the development of the school.

Three of the halls have been named after Nana Akuoko Sarpong, the Paramount Chief of the Agogo Traditional Area; the late Mr Peter Ala Adjetey, former Speaker of Parliament; and the late Nana Wereko Ampem II, the former Gyasehene of Akuapem and the Chief of Amanokrom.
A fourth residential hall, which is yet to be completed, has been named after the late Nana Awuah Darko Ampem, the former Nkosuohene of Asante Juaben.
The four were honoured during the school’s 83rd Founders Day celebration on Friday.
Purpose of the event
The event, which was held on the theme: “Re-living the tenets of Accra Academy: Selflessness, sacrifice and patriotism,” was used to honour the founders of the school.
Advice to students
Speaking at the ceremony, a former Member of Parliament for the Odododiodoo Constituency, Nii Bi Ayi-Bonte, advised students to strive for the best in all their endeavours.
He called on them to eschew mediocrity, as it could put their future in jeopardy.
In a speech read on his behalf, Nana Akuoko Sarpong expressed his appreciation to the school for bestowing such an honour on him.
He called on all individuals associated with the school to support it to overcome its challenges.
