Christian Service University admits 1,148 students

The Christian Service University (CSU) in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region, admitted 1,148 new students for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The students are made up of 907 females, accounting for 79 per cent of those admitted, while 241 are males, representing 21 per cent.

Eight of the students gained admission to pursue diploma programmes, representing 0.7 per cent, 962 undergraduate students, representing 83.08 per cent and 178 postgraduate students, representing 15.5 per cent.

Among the admitted students, 840, or 73 per cent, registered for their respective academic programmes. Of the total, 98 are postgraduate students, 738 are undergraduates and four are diploma students.

During the ceremony, the acting Vice-Chancellor, Dr Stephen Banahene, told the students that the event marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, one that would be memorable and filled with lifelong friendships and connections.

More importantly, he said, “there will be lessons that will shape you and pave the way for huge success you can only begin to dream of,” and touted that the university was among the top-notch universities in the country producing legends in various fields of expertise.

“These legends walked the same places on this campus, discovered their potential and honed their skills in this same environment.

Therefore, rest assured that greatness lies within each one of you,” he said.

He told them that they were in the right place to harness their potential for their benefit, as well as for the nation and the world at large, and further warned them that anyone engaging in examination malpractice would be rusticated for one academic year.

In a brief word of exhortation, the University Chaplain, Rev. Anthony Boateng Agyenim, reminded the newly admitted students of the purpose for which they enrolled in the institution to realise their aspirations.
