Ridge Church School donates to 3 institutions

The Ridge Church School has donated items worth several thousand Ghana Cedis to three organisations as part of the school’s annual Harvest and Outreach Service.

The beneficiary institutions were the Klicks Foundation, a centre dedicated to supporting individuals with autism; the Akropong School for the Blind, and the Children’s Department of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital.

At a service held on the school premises on October 31, the school donated various items, including groceries, canned foods, fruits, detergents, drinks, bags of rice, eggs, yams, plantains, five drip stands, and other essentials.

The event, which was dedicated to the final-year Class of 2026, formed part of the school’s long-standing tradition of giving to the needy and expressing gratitude to God for His blessings.

It was on the theme, “I am a cheerful giver - 2 Corinthians 9:7”, and featured soul-lifting hymns, scripture readings, recitals, and choral performances by the school’s choir.

It also saw the donation of 15 refuse bins by the 2022 Year Group to the school.

Giving

Rev. Laud Gyampoh delivered a sermon that reminded the pupils and the congregation of the essence of cheerful giving and gratitude.

He commended the school, likening them to the Apostle Paul, for organising a relief drive to support those in need.

“The parents and guardians of the school had generously donated items, mirroring the churches in Corinth and Macedonia that had responded to Paul's call for help,” he said.

Rev. Gyampoh emphasised the importance of giving, citing Paul's words that those who give generously would be blessed with many opportunities.

He prayed that the items would reach the intended beneficiaries, meet their needs and prompt them to pray for the donors.

The Headmistress of the school, Nana Ama Acheampomaa Badasu, and some pupils presented the donations to representatives of the three beneficiary institutions.

She said the Harvest and Outreach Service, one of the school’s oldest traditions, was designed to nurture in pupils the virtues of compassion, generosity and thanksgiving.

“Our aim is to help learners appreciate the joy of giving and the value of showing love to others,” she said.

Gratitude

On behalf of the beneficiaries, the founder of Klicks Africa Foundation, Mary Amoah Kuffour, expressed gratitude to Ridge Church School and its leadership for the generous donation.
