Ablekuma North Municipality gets first govt healthcare facility

The first government healthcare facility to serve the people of Ablekuma North Municipality in the Greater Accra Region has been inaugurated.

The health facility located at Odorkor Been-To area in the municipality has been fenced and has an administration block.

The healthcare facility was constructed through the District Development Fund (DDF) of the Assembly while the administration block and the fence wall were built with the support of the National Petroleum Authority and the District Assembly Common Fund (DAFC) respectively.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Titus Glover said the project was a testament of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government  commitment to  bring quality healthcare to the doorsteps of the people.

He said the government has the welfare of the people at heart and therefore urged them to retain the government in power on December 7 to continue with its good work.

Mr Titus Glover commended the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ablekuma North Assembly, Kofi Ofori for the Polyclinic, which he said demonstrated his hard work as it was not easy to come by land in Accra lately to build such a facility to meet the health needs of the people.

The MCE for Abkekum North, Mr Ofori thanked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his Vice, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who is also the NPP Presidential Candidate for the confidence they reposed in him to serve the people of Ablekuma North municipality from 2018 to date.

He assured that the facility would provide the people in the municipality and beyond with the quality of care they desired and called on the health workers to deliver the kind of care the people deserve.

He used the occasion to appeal to residents of the area to ensure a free and fair elections devoid of violence and urged the people  to be tolerant of each other on the election day.

He also used the occasion to thank the Assembly members, chiefs, opinion leaders and the people of Ablekuma North municipality for their support and cooperation to serve them during his tenure as the MCE for the area.
