Adma MCE meets chiefs on development issues

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Adentan Municipal Assembly, Mr Benjamin Angenu, and some  officers of the assembly have met with traditional rulers in the municipality to deliberate on issue regarding development in the area.

The MCE briefed the traditional authorities on ongoing development projects in the municipality focusing on education, health, security and transport sectors.

On security matters in the municipality, Mr Angenu told the leaders that the assembly had donated a new Nissan pick-up  to the District Police Command to help it fight crime in the area. 

He also briefed them on efforts being made by the assembly to resolve the water crisis in the municipality. He said the assembly had in the meantime provided boreholes in anticipation of a major intervention from the Kpone Water Project, which is expected be ready by next month.  

In order to make it easier for residents within the Ogbojo electoral area and its environs to have easy access to transportation, the Metro Mass Transport bus company has been given a terminal and office space in the Ogbojo Market area.  

According to him one major challenge hindering rapid development of the municipality was the unavailability of land for productive activities.

Appeal to Chiefs

He has, therefore, urged the chiefs to endeavour to make land available to the assembly for future development plans. 

He also asked for cooperation from them in the fight gainst cholera and the deadly Ebola disease, initiated by the assembly a couple of months ago.  

Nii Torgbor Obodai II, the chief of Ogbojo, on behalf of his colleague traditional leaders, thanked Mr Angenu and the assembly for their efforts at ensuring that the community had its fair share of development. They pledged their support to help the assembly achieve more progress.
